The show is created as part of project BG-RRP-11.020-0225-C01 – Stand-up Comedy Show “Bulgarian Culture and Traditions”, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
A new stand-up show is set to be created in Bulgaria, dedicated entirely to Bulgarian traditions, culture, and social norms – a project that will place the everyday life of Bulgarians and the distinctive aspects of life in the country at the center of attention. The idea behind the show is to present familiar situations, habits, and social patterns in a fresh and entertaining way, while preserving their authenticity and cultural value.
Concept and Themes
The concept covers key aspects of life in Bulgaria – family relationships, holidays and customs, interpersonal communication, as well as specific reactions and behaviors often considered “typically Bulgarian.” From conversations around the table and traditional hospitality to everyday situations in urban life, all of this becomes a source of inspiration for the comedic material.
Carefully Selected Content for the Show
As part of the project, jokes and comedic situations are carefully selected and developed based on in-depth research of Bulgarian culture and social environment.
