A new stand-up show is set to be created in Bulgaria, dedicated entirely to Bulgarian traditions, culture, and social norms – a project that will place the everyday life of Bulgarians and the distinctive aspects of life in the country at the center of attention. The idea behind the show is to present familiar situations, habits, and social patterns in a fresh and entertaining way, while preserving their authenticity and cultural value.

Concept and Themes

The concept covers key aspects of life in Bulgaria – family relationships, holidays and customs, interpersonal communication, as well as specific reactions and behaviors often considered “typically Bulgarian.” From conversations around the table and traditional hospitality to everyday situations in urban life, all of this becomes a source of inspiration for the comedic material.

Carefully Selected Content for the Show

As part of the project, jokes and comedic situations are carefully selected and developed based on in-depth research of Bulgarian culture and social environment. The scripts are built on real observations and life experiences, which gives the content authenticity and makes it relatable to the audience. In this way, viewers don’t just laugh – they recognize themselves and their daily lives in the stories presented.

Through a combination of humor and cultural analysis, the show aims to offer not only entertainment but also a deeper understanding of Bulgarian identity. Comedy is used as a tool to explore traditions, raise questions, and reveal new perspectives on familiar topics.

A Cultural Experience Through the Lens of Comedy

What makes this format particularly valuable is its ability to create space for dialogue – between generations, between different social groups, and between tradition and modern life. Humor becomes a bridge that connects people and allows cultural characteristics to be discussed in a light yet meaningful way.

The upcoming stand-up show is not just a comedy project, but a cultural experience that combines laughter, relatability, and reflection. It has the potential to present Bulgarian culture in a new light – one that both entertains and enriches.
